What happens if I have no longer remote access to my server ?
If you no longer have remote access to your machine because of an incorrect online configuration or because of installed software, you KVM access. The KVM interface ('keyboard, videomonitor , mouse') allows you to monitor your server from a different computer. You can request this access from the page "Request Assistance" in your control panel.
What can i do if, after a reboot operation, my server is no longer accessible?
You can try to restart your server in Recovery mode. Log in to your Register.it Control Panel and going in the Server management page, click Recovery Mode.
The OS base available to perform a Recovery operation is Linux then you can only access the server via ssh. The operating system is live then to start the necessary actions you must perform prior to manually mount the HD of the server.
Warning: Recovery Mode is an advanced mode so we strong advice you to start it only if you have the technical level required.
Can I install on my machine a different operating system?
Yes, you can change the server's operating system at any time.
You can request a new installation of the operating system of your choice, right from your control panel, using the button "Operating System" and select the operating system you prefer, from the available options.
WARNING: Remember that with this procedure all software, files, documents installed on your server will be not longer available.
What should I do if I need to restart the server?
Since you have access as an administrative user, you can restart the server autonomously. If this is not possible, you can restart your machine by yourself from your control panel, clicking on the "Sservers" link and by selecting the server you want to restart.
How do i request an additional IP address?
As you may know, the number of IP addresses available worldwide is limited, it is therefore necessary to justify the request to obtain the assignment.
To request an additional IP address, go to the "Server" page in your Register.it Control Panel. Click on the "Support" link, select the topic and click on "Submit Request", requesting activation of an additional IPV4 or IPV6 address and clarifying motivation. After about 24/48 of the request, you will receive an email with the IP address that was assigned to you and you can proceed with the configuration on your server.
The maximum number of additional IP that you can take depends on the number included in the product that you purchased.
How can I administer my server from a remote location?
You can use Plesk interface included with the server. In alternative, for Windows solutions, you can administer the server from a remote location using the Remote Desktop software, included with Windows XP or by downloading the software from:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/connect-using-remote-desktop-connection#connect-using-remote-desktop-connection=windows-7x o the freeware Putty:
For Linux solutions, you can use a SSH program included with the most common Linux distributions;
How can I have my server reset to its original setting?
If you can no longer access your Dedicated Server, or if you installed some software that damaged its configuration, you can install a new operating system from scretch, by clicking on the "Server" link of your control panel and then on the "Operating system" button.
ATTENTION! Please remember that by reinstall the operating system all the software programs, files and documents installed on the server will be no longer usable.
My server is expired. What can I do if I'd like to recuperate?
After the expiration date, there are still two days in which you can proceed with the renewal and automatically take advantage of all the capabilities of your server.
After this time, for 3 days more, (then up to 6 days after the deadline), you can still still renew Server, but just requesting reactivation by sending an email from the Support section of your control panel.
In the event of non-renewal, after that date, the server will be permanently deleted.
We recommend you to set the automatic renewal from the control panel or risk to forget the due dates of your products.
